Amaze seeks DLA Project Worker
23 February 2018
DLA Project Worker
15 hours per week, Brighton based but with some travel in East Sussex
Salary: £22,658-£26,822 (NJC 25-30) pro rata
Fixed term contract for one year but with opportunity to extend
Amaze has a well-established, volunteer-led, project supporting families with disabled children living in Brighton and Hove, to access the right disability benefits (DLA and PIP) for their child/young person.
The service is always overstretched and has to prioritise by offering face to face support to only the most vulnerable families. So we now want to build up our range of online information and resources to be able to support more families ‘virtually’ so are investing in this new post to support this development.
We have also won funding to pilot the extension of this work into one area in East Sussex so the postholder would need to be able to travel occasionally.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a highly effective and impactful service for families and contribute to its ongoing development. You will have experience of producing written information that is both accurate and accessible to a variety of readers and of working with a broad range of people – including families, parents and or young people, ideally some with additional needs. You will also have a good knowledge of the welfare benefits system and specifically disability benefits and have excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 12 March.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 22 March in Brighton.
