New SEND hubs appoint headteachers

7 December 2017

Brighton and Hove City Council are entering the next phase of the SEND hubs plan.

Adrian Carver has been appointed to lead the East Hub (which incorporates Downs View, the Cedar Centre and Downs View Link College) and Rachel Burstow will lead the West Hub (which includes Hillside and Downs Park).

They are currently recruiting for the Executive Headteacher of the third hub, which is for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, combining Homewood College and the two pupil referral units.

We will have more about what’s coming up in our newsletter, but in the mean time you may be interested  to read more in this latest information on the SEND hubs from Brighton and Hove City Council [pdf 356kb], which offers more details about integration of services within hubs, particularly health and social care; forthcoming consultations, including on the extended day and short break offer; and plans for specialist nursery provision.
