A group of artists with and without learning disabilities is launching a free, inclusive exhibition on World Autism Awareness Day, featuring art by Johnny Carroll-Pell, a young autistic artist.
Johnny is the son of our patrons, screenwriter Angela Pell and writer and producer Henry Normal. He got his start at the MyMarc sessions at Amaze run by Sue Winter, where he developed a passion for art, which he now explores with the Rocket Artists.
As well as the exhibition, there’ll be a programme of events, including Johnny’s parents reading from their new book about living with autism – “A Normal Family”, which comes out on 22nd March, a talk from Ros Blackburn (an autistic adult), music performances and more.
Johnny is also launching a book featuring 100 of his paintings called “Art by Johnny” on 22nd March, and is kindly donating £2 to Amaze for every book sold at these events.
The exhibition is available to view Wednesday to Sunday throughout April.
